believe this is a species of Neoporus (Hydroporus) - corrections welcome

came to UV light

update: after more time with the keys, including Larson's, I believe this is likely N. undulatus (Say)

Moved from Neoporus.

N. clypealis actually...
This is a male and the protarsal claws on this one are clearly unequal (anterior is roughly half the length of posterior claw). In N. undulatus, both claws are subequal in length.
The clypeus is also distinctly thickened. Although barely visible, the anterior protarsal claw should be acute apically (both features separate this from similar N. shermani).

thanks,
for the correction, and the detail behind your determination.
