Thanks for your confirmation. As an aside, I'm not sure that I'd use the term "near arctic" for where I live. All the photos that I've posted to Bugguide so far have been taken at latitudes lower than Bellingham, Washington state and where winter temperature never approach the lows of places like North Dakota or Montana. It's common for people to think of Newfoundland being a lot further north and colder than it really is.

Gerard means the "Nearctic region" which would mean much of Mexico, the USA, Canada and Greenland. It is basically the Americas and Greenland north of the tropic of Cancer. This is opposed to the "Palearctic" which is Europe and Asia north if the tropics.
