Checkerspot #1 - Chlosyne gorgone
Edmond , Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, USA

Moved
Moved from ID Request.

Gorgone Checkerspot
with hindwing margin lacking crescents which is a characteristic of Silvery Checkerspot but no white centered orange submarginal spots. Arrow head shaped crescent on forewing submargin is a clear Gorgone Checkerspot characteristic.

Thanks
I appreciate you taking the time to explain these differences. I had it narrowed down to a few species but wasn't sure.

Also could be mistaken for Harris Checkerspot
which resides in northern / northeastern U.S.

"Appear to be slightly different"
which is why Bugguide requires separate submissions for different individuals - unless they are mating of course :-)

Thank you
I resubmitted them separately
