Giant beetle
this is the beetle I have and thanks to all of you....just one more thing....what does it eat and is it a pest that can hurt corps? I live in Salinas where there is a lot of farming...Thank You

 
Not a pest...
...breeds in logs and stumps of dead conifers.

Looks like...
...Ergates spiculatus.
