Bite - Hogna carolinensis

Bite - Hogna carolinensis
During the process of placing the two spiders on the sheet, I carelessly tried to scoop up the FL female, which resulted in a nasty bite.
Had I just let her crawl onto my hand, everything would have been fine.

The puncture marks are 13mm apart. This was taken 5 minutes after the bite, and my fingertip is swollen.

Update: 24 hours later, finger back to normal, although it was still swollen this morning and part of the day.

why frass?
This is an interesting series of pictures that documents the effects of a specific species bite. This deserves a place in the guide.
