ID
Subfamily Orthocladiinae(1), male.

Color pattern is similar to Cricotopus. That's not an ID -- I have no way to ID to genus (unless you found it next to salt water). Wing veins are consistent with that part of the subfamily.

 
Cricotopus
I'm convinced now that this is genus Cricotopus. I don't have a key to Western species. The white bands around the front tibia are one of the distinguishing features of the genus. Several species have yellow segments 1, 4, 7 on the abdomen, with 7 often very dark yellow.

 
Salt Water
is present (vast quantities) about 20 miles to the west. Marsh dwelling insects are often carried by wind to the location. Thanks for the ID help.
