Aphids - Uroleucon ambrosiae

Aphids - Uroleucon ambrosiae
Duluth, Georgia, USA
July 19, 2003

Moved
Moved from Aphids.

They look similar to
The ones IDed as Brown Ambrosia Aphids which were also called Dactynotus rudbeckiae.

Red aphids
I also have some pictures of red aphids. The only ones I can find on the net are Dysaphis plantaginea and Dactynotus rudbeckiae. I can't find enough info on either to figure out if it's these.

Uroleucon
Try Uroleucon ambrosiae. I just photo'd some of those recently and they look like a possible good match. I've seen them called Uroleucon rudbeckiae, which was formerly Dactynotus rudbeckiae, so I'm not sure if the taxonomy has been sorted out yet. But according to the UGA list and my local extension office, the ones I have are Uroleucon ambrosiae. Maybe that will help.
