Eumorpha pandorus

Eumorpha pandorus
Onalaska/Great River State Trail, La Crosse County, Wisconsin, USA
June 15, 2007
Size: 3 inch wingspan
This photo was taken in the late morning while hiking along a wooded trail with the sun peeking through the trees. This specimen was observed to be "flitting" around near the ground and unable to fly. I assume its wings were wet from the early morning dew.

Moved
Moved from Sphinx Moths.

I also rotated the picture for better viewing. If you disagree with this change, feel free to re-upload with original positioning.

Sphinx
Welcome to Bugguide! Feel free to move your images directly to their species page if you know their ID. Also, the correct spelling is Sphinx.
