not a Cortodera at all.
i'll bet my next paychek on it. Just matching color patterns is no way to ID things.

I believe this is...
...a species of Cortodera. It seems to compare favorably with this specimen of C. longicornis.

I agree that it does look very close...do you think we are safe to add the species or should we stick to genus for now. I searched online but could not find any other photos.

Cortodera
This is C. longicornis, I'm looking at other Cortodera from Montana right now. Also, the only Pidonia in the Montana Entomology collection is P.scripta.
