I know that the feather-like antenna identify the male but of what genus ?

Male, yes, Crane Fly, no.
This is actually a male mosquito. My guess offhand is some sort of Saltmarsh mosquito, but Sean and Omar would be able to tell you for sure. Though I think a dorsal shot might provide more help in getting a good ID.

I think it is something in the Oc. excrucians complex, and most likely Oc. aloponotum, but this one is probably one I would have to see "in person". Oc. excucians, Oc. euedes and Oc. aloponotum all occur in the Okanagan.
