Gold and Brown Rove Beetle - Ontholestes cingulatus

Gold and Brown Rove Beetle - Ontholestes cingulatus
Mayfair, Saskatoon,, Saskatchewan, Canada

I don't even know where to begin looking to find out what this is. I assume it's some kind of immature insect but I don't have a clue. I found it quite by accident while I was watching a pair of male garden carrion beetles fighting over two females. I saw some movement at my feet but couldn't make out what it was as it blended in so well with the broken pavement. It was moving in and out of a broken crack in the cement.

Nice picture. They do exist.
Found one of these today
A moving yellow spot, nymph for something?
I had to catch it to get a decent photo.
