I do think this is Hystricia abrupta...it is not Adejeania

I wonder if this might be Hystricia abrupta. Should eventually be able to give a pretty concrete genus ID with such a stunningly detailed shot....

Do you think it is the west coast equilavent since it was from Montana? Adejeania vexatrix?

I'm not going to hazard any more guesses, sorry:-) After all, Hymenoptera is my specialty....
