Dicromantispa sayi? - Dicromantispa sayi - male - female

Dicromantispa sayi? - Dicromantispa sayi - Male Female
Tweed, Hastings, Ontario, Canada
July 27, 2016
Size: ~ 15 mm
The female in the first set of images also appears in these group photos.

My understanding is that Dicromantispa sayi (until recently) was not known outside of extreme southwestern Ontario, and Mantidflies are rarely encountered in any event.

I captured the male and gravid female at the same location as the first female (near security lights on the wall of a building). In hindsight a good place to look for Mantidflies. There is all kinds of prey for the adults, and by the same token the wall is crawling with spiders and I wouldn't be surprised if the females are ovipositing there.
