What do folks think of
Metacmaeops vittata with a darkened pronotum? We even see the toothlike projections on the fore tibiae that Yanega mentions, fig 180, though 3/4 inch is quite large!

Yes...
...I'll go along with it, now. I've only seen this species with a light pronotum, but seeing the other specimen you reference with the partially darkened thorax makes this seem likely.

I don't think so...
...The pronotum of A. lineola is campanulate, while in this specimen it is constricted basally. It could be a striped form of Pidonia ruficollis, although usually the legs in that species show some dark.
