Aphidiid Wasp - female

Aphidiid Wasp - Female
Richmond Hill, York Region, Ontario, Canada
July 8, 2007
Size: ~ 1.5 mm
Another Aphid predator, the Aphidiid Wasp. Tricky little fellows, as one will see in the following photographs in this series.

The drama unfolds as a tiny Aphidiid Wasp lands on the succulent leaf of a Sedum...

Impressed!
What a wonderful series of shots. Wish you had a little optical fiber camera to manouver in close for the actual laying.

Thanks
It would indeed be great if I had one of those probes. I did have an image of the ovipositing ... but it's more of a blurry silhouette of the female with her abdomen stretched forwards, exactly like in the other images on the page.
