Aphidiid Wasp - Female
Richmond Hill, York Region, Ontario, Canada
July 8, 2007
Size: ~ 1.5 mm
Evasion. The Wasp's mission is not yet complete, as she still have eggs to lay. But, it's time to conduct some evasive action. The ants have been aroused and are suspicious that somebody has intruded their aphid herd. The wasp makes it to relative safety beneath a leaf, but soon takes flight and re-alights at the tip of another leaf higher up, and once more begins to stalk.
