Brown Waterscorpion - Ranatra fusca

Brown Waterscorpion - Ranatra fusca
Irondale, Haliburton, Ontario, Canada
September 22, 2001
Size: 39 mm
Size is length excluding breathing tube. A recently remounted, fully spread specimen from my old collection. I do not know what happened to the left rear leg.
How these bugs manage to swim OR fly always amazes me!
