Locust Treehopper - Thelia bimaculata - male

Locust Treehopper - Thelia bimaculata - Male
Thornhill, Ontario, Canada
July 11, 2007
Seeking confirmation that this is the Locust Treehopper (Thelia bimaculata) and hoping for an ID for the ant species tending the hoppers and their nymphs.

This treehopper was found on the trunk of a young Black Locust tree (Robinia pseudoacacia) along the forest edge in full sunlight. As can be seen in this image it was being tended to by ants, presumably harvesting honeydew from the nymphs.
