It's in the genus Timulla, but I have no clue as to what species it is.

Velvet Ant - Male (Mutillidae)
My knowledge of North-American fauna is insufficient even for an ID at the genus level. Dasymeutilla, Timulla or Pseudomethoca seem (to me) equally reasonable possibilities. Quality of the pictures - as usual - should help an expert a lot.
