Bark Beetle - Mallodon dasystomus

Size: approximately 1 and 1/4"
This beetle was found under the bark of a well-seasoned hardwood log. Would hope to know the exact species.

I think this is where it belongs,
in which case it is probably a female based on smaller mandibles.
