Size: 1.5-1.7cm
I first saw this bug on Baccharis pilularis, Coyote Brush in my back yard. It flew onto me, then to the ground, and buzzed off after I took the photo.

Genus correct.
Definitely a Chlorochroa, but species are very difficult to determine, as I learned from Dr. David Rider, an expert on the family. I'd leave this image at genus level for now.
