Pear slug - Caliroa cerasi

Pear slug - Caliroa cerasi

These little caterpillars look like they are wet - very shiny and translucent skin. They eat on the top layer of my cherry tree leaves every year from June-Sept. Any idea what they are?

Thanks much
I really appreciate this id - these little critters are totally decimating all the leaves on my cherry tree. Anyone know what they turn into? Any solution (organic) for getting rid of them?

Thanks.
