Size: 3.5 mm
This small weevil found on decaying maple log...has tubercles on elyta.

This weevil is, more than likely, in the genus Conotrachelus. Only around 200 species or so to choose from:-)

 
200 or not, but...
...in this case i choose C. nenuphar without much hesiation

This is not Conotrachelus but rather is Sthereus quadrituberculatus.
