Giant mosquito? in Texas

Size: 1"
I think this is a mosquito. If it is, it is the biggest one I've ever seen. It was at least 1" long and was sitting on a leaf in my flower bed.

Psorophora?
I lean more towards Psorophora with the palpal segments being as thick as they are and with the pale apical segment.
