Large Lace-borer (Scopula limboundata) - Scopula limboundata

Large Lace-borer (Scopula limboundata) - Scopula limboundata
Buxton, Traill County, North Dakota, USA
August 23, 2016
This specimen may be an example of the Large Lace-borer (Scopula limboundata) 7159 of larva that hatched July 28, 2016. I am rearing and will offer apple and dandelion for food source. Reared in a fairly small container and no cannibalism. The larva always on straight down from either the top of the lid or on the underside of the apple leaves. I think they are in their final instar and when moved on to new foliage the larva is stiff and if another larva is too close its like they bat the body against the other larva. Their color has been a light pastel and is now a darker color.
