Synonyms and other taxonomic changes
Many sources consider Spongiphoridae to be the correct name. The name Labiidae has been preserved over the older name Isolabellidae by an official ruling of the International Committee on Zoological Nomenclature, which has the final say on scientific names for animals.

(taxomy may vary depending on source; Paralabella spp. are sometimes included in Labia, and Marava, in the Labiinae)
