Wasp - Bicyrtes quadrifasciatus

Wasp - Bicyrtes quadrifasciatus
Plainsboro Preserve, Middlesex County, New Jersey, USA
July 16, 2007
Size: 1" to 1-1/4", I think.
Some digging observed, but didn't get very far with it.

Wasp ID
Bicyrtes quadrimaculatus, I think.

Yes and no:-)
It is Bicyrtes, but species name is spelled "quadrifasciatus."

Bands and spots.
I have no idea why I typed "maculatus", except possibly that I was just looking at Lady Beetles. Good to know you're always on the job.

Thanks
Thamks for the id and clarification.
