Very striking moth found on the bathroom wall at a campsite on the island at night.

Looks like
the genus Anisota. The Info pagehas a good discussion of the uncertainties in the genus. One of the more experienced "mothiers" will probably be able to take you further. :)

After comparing the images of A. senatoria and A. stigma and the other similar species/variants, I am pretty convinced this is senatoria. Thanks you for the quick ID.
By the way, is this a female?

 
Not really sure
but according to the comments on

 
male vs. female
I only thought it might be a female based on the hind wing shape--if it is indeed A. senatoria, the male's are supposed to be much sharper, according to these comments.
