Moved
The impressions at the base of elytra and body shape point to Corticotomus, and the concave head leads to C. cylindricus. Nice find, I've seen a couple of these recently.

Thanks Brad,
Previously I wasn't able to key this one with confidence. After your ID, I now see that Downie and Arnett's key has an error in the Corticotomus cuplet. The key to Corticotomus states "elytra without subhumeral impression", which are clearly visible even from my photo and led me elsewhere, away from Corticotomus. But the genus description under Corticotomus which I should have read states "elytra with subhumeral impression at base". C. cylindricus is by LeConte, so the type is probably at the MCZ. But I couldn't find an image there.
Thanks again,
Tim

Yes,
Trogossitidae. Both shape and antennal description point to this family although not all troggositids are built like this
