Black beetle from motel pool - Pedilus lugubris

Black beetle from motel pool - Pedilus lugubris
Jefferson Notch area, Coos County, New Hampshire, USA
May 26, 2007
Size: about 6.8 mm
Fished this one out of the Jefferson Notch Motel swimming pool on a warm afternoon following a warm buggy night. At first I thought it might be Pedi*llus but now I'm unsure. This was some of the many collateral benefits in my Forest Service-approved search for Py*tho str*ictus.

Thanks, Dan. Tom too :-)
Very glad to see you on bugguide. Dan, if I could add something to your personal or bio page so those unfamiliar with you would know who you are, I would. However, you are the only one who can do that. If you would click on your name and add a line or two of personal ID, or maybe a link to a Web page about you somewhere, it would introduce you to some of us dabblers

After further comparing this beetle's shape to that of Pedilus pyrochoids I think that's what it is.
