A "recent" page for specific taxon groups

I'm always amazed how experts manage to find newly uploaded submissions no matter where they are placed. But whenever I'm looking for recent submissions I can only easily check the family level. If something is recently posted in a genus, or a species, it's almost a guarantee I will never see it. Is there a secret method to finding recent uploaded photos within a certain taxonomic group?

Here's another trick you may enjoy.
First notice that if you go to the Family Coccinellidae - Lady Beetles page, the url will be http://bugguide.net/node/view/179
179 is the number of the node for the Lady beetle Family page.
Now click on Search without putting anything in the search box. The blank search page will come up with an option for 'advanced search". Click on that and then enter 179 in the Taxon ID#. (Or, as it states, you can begin typing Coccinellidae in that box and eventually 179 will appear as a choice. Sometimes, such as this one, you have to essentially type the entire name which is why we usually look for the node number first, but either works.)
Now directly under that check the box that says 'Exclude images at species level' so you don't get images that are already identified. Then click go, (or restrict your search even more by selecting a state or a month). For us 1605 images appear, all of which are still looking for a species ID. Looks like your work is cut out for you! :)
Enjoy!

Thanks! Useful tip.
That's good to see all the pending images. Although, any of those images that can be reliably identified further I have already commented on. Just need an editor to move them.

Will work for any Family, subfamily, superfamily
tribe, genus, etc., that you choose as long as there aren't too many images unidentified to species.

Navigate to the taxon of interest...
...then click on the Images tab, then click on the "recent images" link under the taxon name at the upper left.

Wow, thanks for this
I've been on the site nearly a decade and I've never seen this before!

Congrats!
It took me a while to figure that out (I use it to review every Crustacean submission) but it didn't take me a decade :)
