An odd one!
From these images my guess is something akin to Exochomus. I'm intrigued. Do you have any images that show the underside or antennae?

We don't have any species in the east that look like this, so it is either an aberrant or an import.

size?
It's length and other views would be helpful in making an ID. If it is in the 1 mm - 1.5 mm range, I would suspect Microweisea sp.. Consider that a lead more than an ID, though.
