Great purple hairstreak butterfly?
Here's info about the great purple hairstreak (Atlides halesus), which looks like a possible match.



The wings do look small and crumpled from this angle; is it possible the butterfly had just emerged from its chrysalis and hadn't yet had a chance to pump up its wings?
