Spiny spider - Neoscona crucifera

Spiny spider - Neoscona crucifera
Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, USA
August 28, 2016
Found on a Crepe Myrtle Tree on a college campus. Spider was bunched up about the size of a quarter, hiding in a partially webbed nook located near a larger web that looked to belong to this spider as well. It had very spiny looking hairs on it's legs and body.
