Whitebanded Crab Spider - Misumenoides formosipes - male

Whitebanded Crab Spider - Misumenoides formosipes - Male
Milton, Massachusetts, USA
August 18, 2004
is this crab spider a Misumenops sp.? the other crab spiders on this site were heavier bodied, only the Misumenops looked close.

male crab spider
Nice work finding the images on google. It certainly looks similar to the male, but this one didn't seem to be as nearly small as the one on the female's back.

I agree
my spider was also smaller than the female crab spiders I've seen, but not as small as the one in the image. Do you think the one in the image could be a juvenile?

males
The males with their smaller bodies and long legs look very different because of the body to leg size ratio. We don't recognize this one, but it could be Misumenoides

same as...
? I don't know what mine is either.
