Tiger Bee Fly - Xenox tigrinus

Tiger Bee Fly - Xenox tigrinus
Adams County, Pennsylvania, USA
July 21, 2007
Size: 1-1 1/2 inches
I think this is a Tiger Bee Fly (Xenox tigrinus) If someone could confirm that ID, I will move it to the proper page,

Thanks,

Xenox tigrinus looks good to me
I'm no expert, but the wings look identical to other posted specimens. Nice shot, Bob.

Bee
Thanks Ron. Sometimes one little field mark makes a difference in species and this is the first one of these beasts I have ever seen.

Re: field mark
With bee flies, I'm pretty sure the wings alone can take it at least to genus.
