Size: About the size of a hand
Found in hot, dry, rocky, slightly elevated dirt area in northern Mexico. Didn't move for a while. Crawls quickly.

Keep for a while
This is an outstanding representative of an adult male Aphonopelma steindachneri, which is common throughout the Coastal ranges of southwestern California.
I recommend keeping the photo at least until other photos of adult males are posted.
