phantom crane fly? - Emesaya brevipennis

phantom crane fly? - Emesaya brevipennis
Albion, Calhoun County, Michigan, USA
September 24, 2016
Rounding my workshop I almost saw this creature, and only when I was in photographing range did I really see this thing with white joints. I'd seen something before which was the black and white phantom crane fly. But this one was reddish-brown except for the white joints. I didn't see one in your search file for phantom crane flies, but this one really is. Any help identifying this fellow will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Oh, I had not seen the rostrum since it was in the same arc as the antenna. But now I see the raptorial legs. Wish I could find it again in action!

Thanks Metrioptera
