Darker Peck's Skipper - Polites peckius

Darker Peck's Skipper - Polites peckius
Norris City, White County, Illinois, USA
July 23, 2007
Here is a much darker Peck's Skipper than the normal one's I've seen. I've only been noticing these darker one's for the last couple weeks or three. I wonder why the darker one's all of a sudden?

A lot of variation
I only saw these during the first week of June in MN. There were a lot of them along with Hobomok and Arctic, but they tapered off fast. There was a lot of variation this year that I noticed. I'll have to check my photos to see if I have any dark like this, though. I don't think so.
