Giant Milkweed Bug - Sephina gundlachi

Giant Milkweed Bug - Sephina gundlachi
Tavares, Lake County, Florida, USA
July 22, 2007

Mite
Is that a mite on his back?

Neat!
Didn't know they came in three sizes. Do you know if this is a Florida exclusive?

Range
I suppose it pretty much is. The Info column in the guide states the range is West Indies to Florida.
I certainly don't have a shortage of them in my yard!

Although in my garden they feed on a different climbing milkweed - Matelea gonocarpos
