Is this a male Megachile brevis? It has two of the characters for this species set forth in the Discover Life database – a band of white hair on T-5 and parallel-sided front tibia. These traits, according to the DL database, distinguish M. brevis from M. texana and M. mendica? This bee was feeding on wild asters.
