Grasshopper - Melanoplus differentialis

Grasshopper - Melanoplus differentialis
San Antonio, Medina River Park, Bexar County, Texas, USA
October 9, 2006
First I'd like to thank everybody who helped out with my last batch of grasshoppers. I felt inspired by the help and so I've mined my old pictures for the remaining grasshopper pictures. Any thoughts on this one?

Differential grasshopper female.
This is one of the very, very few Melanoplus species that is easily identifiable. Large size, and herringbone pattern on hind femur are pretty distinctive.
