Banded Argiope Spider F - Argiope trifasciata - female

Banded Argiope Spider F - Argiope trifasciata - Female
Latrobe, El Dorado County, California, USA
October 19, 2016
Size: Body length ~35mm
I have been watching this spider in a stand of Narrow-leaf Milkweed for several weeks now. Her abdomen is definitely getting larger. The last few days she has been packaging up prey that have stopped by. Flies gather on the packet and she seems to wrap those in too. I think she then drops them but not sure. 2 small spiders (males?) recently appeared in the upper reaches of her web. I have other pictures from different dates and angles and I think a decent close up of one of the males.

Nice series. The Orb Weavers are one of the spiders you can watch over time, and see their life cycle.

If possible in the future, please upload the dorsal shot first, and then the additional views.

Thank you for sharing.
