Hairy Flower Scarab - Trichiotinus bibens

Hairy Flower Scarab - Trichiotinus bibens
Orange County, North Carolina, USA
June 3, 2004
Captured and posed. Detail of elytra, pygidium. In this species, cretaceous (chalky) spots on the pygidium are mostly concealed. (1) In the similar T. lunulatus, the cretaceous spots are more visible:

Identification as to species is pretty darn subtle, so I thought a couple of anatomy shots would be helpful.
