Pipevine Swallowtail For Illinois In July - Battus philenor - Male
Norris City, White County, Illinois, USA
July 27, 2007
Size: Approx. 5 in. wingspan
Data posting for this species in Illinois, for the month of July.

I notice there aren't any posted for Illinois. I had an earlier one that was all faded, but this one was much more fresh-looking for the first one from my state. My thanks to Randy Emmitt for help in identifying that initial one.

Cool shot Kenneth...
Nice to have them cooperate like that isn't it?

Cooperation
Yes, it is nice when they cooperate. But, it's usually like you said - they just flap their wings and never stop. Oh, well.... They're such magnificent creatures, I guess they have that right!
