Root Borer? - Prionus californicus

Size: 'bout two inches or so
this is a large bug from my sister's house in CA. I think it's a Root Borer, but would like to know more...

Yes.
Male Prionus californicus in all likelihood. Not sure where Pollock Pines is, but southern California may have additional species....
