This bee fly looked different from any I have seen so far and would appreciate any info. available, thank you.

Fine photo of a very striking individual
I love the way the line across the abdomen continues onto the wings. Hope you get an ID on this one! (If you don't after a few days, try moving it to Bee Flies.)

You've done well by your subject.
Wing veins are very important, and they're quite clear in this photo. I'm not at all sure what this one is, but check the Exoprosopa dated 30 June 2003 at Giff Beaton's site: http://www.giffbeaton.com/Bee%20Flies.htm
