This looks like Pasiphila rectangulata, where there are fringe records of this species from CA. Perhaps more likely would be a green Eupithecia, as the wing tips of this moth are more narrow and less rounded than Pasiphila rectangulata, and it looks similar to the live image of Eupithecia castellata on MPG:
