Identification
From Emmel & Emmel (1973; (1)): "... characterized by a light ground color dorsally and a very light yellow-buff ventral surface bearing moderately-sized, brilliant silver spots." Also, there's a reddish suffusion toward the forewing base. (see also internet references)
Range
California, from Mount Pinos region (Kern and Ventura counties) to the Bouquet Canyon area, and northeast to the Greenhorn and Piute Mountains at the southern end of the Sierra Nevada.
Season
Late May through July
Food
Larval food plants: Viola species.
