Springtails on algae

Springtails on algae
Aliso Creek Rest Area, San Diego County, California, USA
December 3, 2016
Congregation of springtails on the surface of a temporary puddle, infested heavily with algae. I did try and grab some specimens although I don't know how they will hold. Let me know what characters are useful to photograph.

Hypogastruridae
An educated guess... To confirm, check following characters:
1. mouthcone roundish or pointed ? (frontal aspect shot)
2. number of ocelli in eyepatch (8, 5 or less?)
3. anal spines present or absent ?
4. furca present or absent ?

I will see if I can check
Anal spines confirms the family, right? The specimens did not travel so well and many have broken antennae etc. I will bring proper equipment for future.

These remind me of Ceratophysella except they seem a bit darker than usual.

Anal spines do not confirm the family...
In Hypogastruridae you have genera with and without anal spines. Some examples: Ceratophysella has distinctly large anal spines. In Hypogastrura the anal spines are quite small. In Xenylla they are absent.
